Meeting of members of the Syrian Future Movement in Damascus

In a new organizational step reflecting the Syrian Future Movement’s commitment to strengthening its internal bonds and enhancing its community presence, members of the movement held an introductory meeting last Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the Rabou’ al-Sham Park in Damascus, on the Damascus International Airport road. The meeting brought together a select group of its cadres and members in an atmosphere characterized by national responsibility and a shared vision.

The meeting was dedicated to discussing mechanisms for activating institutional work. Participants reviewed ways to improve the performance of the movement’s offices and the necessity of clearly defining the responsibilities of each office. This would ensure that every member understands their duties and responsibilities, raise the efficiency of organizational performance, and guarantee harmony among the various structures to achieve the movement’s national and social goals.

The issue of detainees was a central focus of the discussion. Attendees emphasized the movement’s commitment to continuing the struggle to restore the rights of detainees and ensure their fair treatment, supporting the government’s approach in this regard, and continuously highlighting their suffering and just demands. During the session, a proposal was made to assign the task of speaking on behalf of the detainees from the Syrian Future Movement to a former detainee, as a step that would demonstrate credibility in conveying their voices and bringing their issues to the public’s attention.

In terms of priorities, securing a permanent headquarters for the movement in Damascus was a central topic of discussion. Those present unanimously agreed on the necessity of providing a suitable center for meetings and activities, serving as a genuine nucleus for institutional work and a platform for communication among members. They considered this a fundamental requirement for ensuring continuity and enhancing effectiveness in the coming period.

Members also discussed the importance of developing clear work plans for the various offices and fostering a spirit of cooperation and coordination. This would broaden participation, attract active national talent, and positively impact the movement’s role in serving society and national causes.

The session concluded with the following recommendations:

  • Giving priority to securing a permanent headquarters for the movement in the coming period and preparing for licensing once the political parties law is passed in Syria.
  • Activating the movement’s offices and strengthening their role in implementing programs and activities that support the transitional phase by establishing new legitimate state institutions after the Assad regime.
  • Restructuring the work of the offices and precisely defining their responsibilities.
  • Continuing to follow up on the issue of detainees, working to restore their rights, highlighting their cases, and contributing within national frameworks to supporting the transitional government’s efforts in this area.
  • Preparing development plans for institutional performance and enhancing coordination among members.
  • Opening the door for qualified and capable national figures wishing to join the movement.

The meeting concluded with everyone affirming that organized institutional work, unified efforts, and integration among members are the fundamental pillars for achieving the goals of the Syrian Future Movement and consolidating its position as an active national voice in the Syrian landscape, capable of addressing citizens’ concerns and contributing to building a more just and stable future.
