- Osama bin Ayed Al-Yatim, born in Jasim city in Daraa on 1-10-1974.
- He graduated from Imam al-Nawawi High School for Sharia Sciences in Daraa, and was in the first class of that high school.
- He enrolled in the Faculty of Sharia at Damascus University and advanced to the second year. At the time, he was admitted to the Islamic University in Medina with the recommendation of Sheikh Abdul Aziz Abazeed, then director of the Sharia High School in Daraa.
- He studied and graduated from the Faculty of Shari’ah at the Islamic University, then earned a diploma in jurisprudence and fundamentals and a diploma in Da’wah.
- He registered for master’s studies at the Department of Jurisprudence and Fundamentals at Omdurman University, Syria. His dissertation was on the realization of a manuscript in the Maqasid al-Shari’ah of Al-Azz ibn Abd al-Salam.
- He was supposed to submit the paper in the summer of 2011, but the blessed Syrian revolution took away his time and attention. Osama Al-Yateem is one of those who were influenced by her.
- He is considered one of the first to participate in the Syrian revolution from the first days of its launch, participating in demonstrations as well as with his flag and pen.
- He was one of the first to preach in the squares of Jassim in Horan at the beginning of the revolution and people gathered around him. The first video of him appealing to the people of Damascus and Aleppo to support the people of Horan in the demonstration in Jasim on 8-4-2011.
- Osama Al-Yatim was detained by the defunct Assad regime for 8 months.
- After his release from detention, he went to Jordan and worked with his brothers in religious advocacy and relief, and his house became a hostel for the displaced and homeless.
- He was active in the office of the Sham Islamic Commission in Jordan, one of the largest organizations operating in Syria. He worked in it as a preacher and educator in addition to humanitarian work before separating from it into an independent organization. The sheikh is considered one of its members and one of the pillars of its scientific office, whose fatwas became famous during the Syrian revolution.
- He contributed to the establishment of the Horan People’s League, which is considered the largest social organization operating in Horan. Sheikh Osama was its executive director in Jordan from its founding until he left Jordan.
- Osama Al-Yateem was calling for the gathering of preachers in one preaching house. He was one of the first to practice preaching work in Horan and contributed to its organization.
- With his brothers and comrade Sheikh Bashar Al-Kamil, he founded Dar Al-Adl in Horan. Sheikh Bashar Al-Kamil was assassinated by the treacherous hand in Horan on 2-9-2015. This came after security became an urgent necessity in Horan.
- He worked to convince all the factions in Horan to sign to recognize the House of Justice. This happened after six months of daily and repeated rounds that exhausted him physically, psychologically, emotionally, family-wise, and financially.
- He then launched Dar al-Adl, which is considered the best unified court project in Syria. It won first place in the 2015 court evaluation despite the criticisms leveled against it.
- He had a big role in building strong relationships between many organizations inside the country and supporters abroad. He was highly trusted by the supporters.
- Osama Al-Yateem was a preacher for Allah Almighty as he was the preacher of the Grand Mosque in Jassim.
- Unidentified assailants assassinated Sheikh Osama al-Yatim, head of the Dar al-Adl court in Hauran, along with two of his brothers and his companion. The assassination took place on the road between the city of Daraa and the town of Saida on Tuesday afternoon, December 15, 2015. He was buried in his hometown of Jasim.
