On the occasion of the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression, the Syrian Future Movement raises its voice in solidarity with the most vulnerable and severely affected group in armed conflicts, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to international conventions and human rights.
The Syrian Future Movement believes that protecting children is the cornerstone of building any civilized society that looks to the future.
The Syrian Future Movement notes with grave concern the recent international reports issued by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), which document the grave violations suffered by millions of children worldwide, including killing, maiming, forced recruitment, and denial of education and medical care in conflict zones.
The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes that the bitter reality in Syria over the past years stands as a living testament to this tragedy. Documented data from human rights networks and UN reports for 2025/2026 indicate that Syrian children have paid the heaviest price as a result of the war machine and massive displacement.
The Syrian Future Movement believes that Syria, in its current and future transitional phase, cannot recover or achieve sustainable stability without placing the care and rehabilitation of child victims at the forefront of national priorities.
The Syrian Future Movement also emphasizes the importance of fully aligning Syrian national laws with UN conventions, particularly the 1989 Convention on the Rights of the Child, to ensure that perpetrators of crimes against children are prosecuted and do not escape punishment.
The Syrian Future Movement believes that reintegrating Syria into the civilized international community begins with respecting humanitarian law and transforming schools and care centers from potential targets of conflict into safe havens for development and intellectual innovation.
Based on the above, the Syrian Future Movement puts forward the following recommendations:
First: Establishing an independent national body dedicated to reintegrating child victims of war and violations into Syrian society through advanced psychological and health support programs.
Second: The Syrian Future Movement calls on the international community and the United Nations to intensify support for the developmental education sector in Syria and to guarantee the complete protection of educational facilities from any military or political targeting.
Third: We demand the drafting of strict national legislation criminalizing the recruitment or exploitation of children in arduous labor, in conjunction with launching comprehensive awareness campaigns in cooperation with civil society organizations.
The Syrian Future Movement renews its pledge to the innocent children of Syria to be their voice and defender of their rights, so that tomorrow in Syria may be free from fear and filled with hope, justice, and human dignity.
