The Kingdom of Norway announces a donation of five million dollars in support of humanitarian efforts in Syria.

The Syrian Future Movement expresses its appreciation for the initiative announced by the Kingdom of Norway on December 9, 2025, to allocate five million dollars to support humanitarian and development efforts in Syria through programs targeting local organizations and humanitarian partners. This support comes at a critical juncture for our country as it continues its transitional phase and works to build national institutions capable of meeting citizens’ needs and strengthening the path to stability.

The Syrian Future Movement believes that this new international commitment confirms two fundamental points:

First, the continued presence of the Syrian issue on the global agenda.

Second, the international community’s recognition of the importance of supporting local actors in rebuilding human capital, society, and vital infrastructure.

From a national perspective, we believe that any external support must align with the priorities of the Syrian people, aimed at promoting early recovery, restoring essential services, and empowering local initiatives that serve the most vulnerable communities.

  1. Transparency and accountability in directing aid to ensure it reaches those who need it without discrimination and without political interference that could hinder its effectiveness.
  2. Strengthening the role of local civil society institutions, as they are best positioned to understand the needs of Syrian society at its various levels.
  3. Aligning aid with a national vision for recovery based on supporting stability, rehabilitating service infrastructure, creating job opportunities, and fostering a sustainable development environment.
  4. Working within the framework of international cooperation in a way that enhances Syria’s new position as a responsible and active partner in its regional and international environment.

As it follows the developments of the transitional phase, the Syrian Future Movement views this support as a positive step that should be built upon through broader coordination with friendly countries and international institutions in order to develop a comprehensive approach to recovery and reconstruction, based on freedom, dignity, and development, and paving the way for a secure and stable future for all Syrians.

The Syrian Future Movement affirms its full readiness to contribute to any national or international effort that works to promote recovery in Syria and help its people overcome the effects of the war, and move towards a future Syria that is a state of law, citizenship and development.
