The Syrian Future Movement is closely following the launch of the second edition of the “PATH” exhibition, organized by the Ministry of Culture in cooperation with the Madad Foundation for Visual Arts. Featuring works by 78 Syrian artists from various governorates, the exhibition will be held in Damascus, Homs, Latakia, Idlib, and Aleppo from September 27 to October 10.
The Syrian Future Movement believes that the exhibition’s importance in the new national era reflects the pulse of Syrian creativity after years of repression and marginalization, and affirms that art has been and will remain a pillar of national identity. The exhibition also represents a space for cultural and artistic dialogue among Syrians and rehabilitates Syrian cities as vibrant centers of art, tolerance, and diversity, enabling young talents to express their visions of homeland and identity at a historical moment that requires redefining these concepts on civil and humane grounds.
The Syrian Future Movement considers this exhibition a living embodiment of the spirit of the new Syria, which embraces diversity and celebrates creativity. It affirms its full support for all cultural initiatives that seek to build a society at peace with itself, open to the world, and committed to the power of art to bring about change.
The Syrian Future Movement recommends the following:
- Transforming the exhibition into an annual national tradition as a permanent platform for free artistic expression, free from any political or ideological tutelage.
- Involving schools and universities in the exhibition’s activities to promote art among new generations and connect it to a renewed Syrian identity.
- Establishing a support fund for young artists, funded by both the public and private sectors, to enable them to develop their artistic projects within Syria.
- Expanding the exhibition internationally by organizing traveling editions in world cultural capitals to showcase Syrian art as a message of peace and identity.
- Integrating art into national reconciliation programs through workshops and joint exhibitions featuring artists from different regions and backgrounds.
The Syrian Future Movement calls on all cultural and civil society organizations to consider art as a fundamental pillar in building a new Syria. It emphasizes that creativity is the language of living peoples and that the path of art is the path to freedom and dignity.
