Death of Pope Francis

Pope Francis held clear positions on Syria, as he called on numerous occasions for an end to the war and the suffering of the Syrian people. On the tenth anniversary of the Syrian revolution, he described the war as one of the gravest humanitarian disasters of this era. He called for disarmament and the rebuilding of Syria’s social fabric, and he prayed for “beloved and tormented Syria,” emphasizing the need for peaceful solutions to the conflict.

The Syrian Future Movement extends its warmest condolences to Catholic Christian believers around the world—especially to Arab and Syrian Catholics—on the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis, who died on the morning of Monday, 2025-04-21. He was a symbol of peace and love in a time when crises swept through the soul of the world.

The Syrian Future Movement – Regarding Syria, the Pope has not been absent from the suffering of its people. On many occasions, he has called for an end to the war and the rebuilding of the social fabric, stressing the need to find peaceful solutions to the conflict that has burdened the Syrians for a decade.

The Syrian Future Movement views the passing of Pope Francis as a great loss to the human community. It calls for this moment to be an opportunity to reinforce the values of love and tolerance among all people and to work toward building a world that is more just and compassionate.

The Syrian Future Movement hopes that the successor to the late Pope on the Catholic papal throne will continue the mission of advocating for peace and justice across the world.
