Regarding the participation of the Syrian President in the extraordinary Arab Summit on Palestine in Cairo

The Syrian Future Movement values the participation of President Ahmad al-Shara in the extraordinary Arab Summit on Palestine, which took place yesterday, Tuesday, 2025-03-04, in Cairo, upon an official invitation from the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The Syrian Future Movement considers this historic step as part of Syria’s return to its active national role, and views it as a victory for the Syrian people’s will, who have withstood the conspiracies of Iran and the fallen Syrian regime. It also confirms the legitimacy of the Syrian struggle in defending Arab constants, with Palestine being at the forefront.

The Syrian Future Movement believes in the unity of the Arab destiny. We see this participation as the beginning of a new phase of Arab solidarity, which should translate into tangible support for Syria to face the challenges it encounters, especially in light of the ongoing Israeli aggression on Palestine and southern Syria, in addition to foreign ambitions targeting the stability of Arab countries.

The Syrian Future Movement considers the danger posed by Netanyahu’s government and the divisive international interventions as two sides of the same coin, requiring a unified Arab stance that restores the legitimacy of the stability and peace project and the unity of the Arab countries’ path and destiny.

The Syrian Future Movement believes that Syria’s presence at the Arab summit sends a clear message that Arab legitimacy must be based on the principles of sovereignty, national dignity, and rejection of foreign tutelage. We also affirm that any transition beyond the fall of Assad must come from within Syria and be led by the Syrians themselves, with brave Arab support to end the years of unjust siege, support reconstruction, and face the systematic media campaigns to distort the resilience of the Syrian people.

The Syrian Future Movement calls on Arab powers to activate the summit’s decisions through practical steps, the most important of which is lifting the unjust sanctions imposed on the Syrian people, which are used as a tool of collective punishment to serve regional and international agendas.

The Syrian Future Movement calls for reviving Syria’s role in Arab forums as a strategic partner in confronting projects to liquidate the Palestinian cause and fragment the Syrian map.

The Syrian Future Movement stresses what President Ahmad al-Shara pointed out, that the new phase in Syria requires an Arab legitimacy umbrella. Arab support for Syria in this phase is urgently needed to face the economic, political, and security challenges it faces, with the importance of enhancing and activating this support to achieve stability and development in Syria and the region.
