On this day in 2011: A student demonstration emerged from Shukri Hakim School in the city of Latakia, with the participation of female students from the Government Complex. Regime forces surrounded Adnan al-Maliki School on Port Said Street to prevent students from demonstrating, while the Al-Sleibeh Project area in the city witnessed heavy security deployment and the closure of some roads in the neighborhood.
