On this day in 2011: Several neighborhoods in Damascus witnessed demonstrations as part of “Prisoners’ Wednesday,” where residents protested in Rukn al-Din, al-Midan, Jobar, al-Qanawat, al-Mezzeh, Kafr Sousa, al-Qadam, al-Shaghour, Barzeh, al-Qaboun, and Nahr Aisha, showing support for Hama and Homs and calling for the release of detainees.
