The Syrian Future Movement affirms its keen interest in the announcement issued on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, regarding the Syrian Ministry of Health’s launch of the “Command and Control Center – Operations Room 110” in Damascus, along with the unveiling of the new visual identity for the ambulance system and the renewal of the ambulance fleet by 170%, equipping it with incubators for premature infants and advanced electronic tracking systems.
The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes that this step represents a significant administrative and technological development in the ambulance and emergency sector, particularly given the exceptional circumstances the country is experiencing during the transitional phase and the devastation wrought by years of war, which has especially affected the health infrastructure.
The Syrian Future Movement highly commends the national efforts exerted by the Ministry of Health’s staff to rehabilitate the health system, in line with the objectives of the National Strategic Plan for the Health Sector 2026–2028, launched in January 2026, and in fulfillment of the Syrian people’s aspirations for safe and rapid healthcare services.
The Syrian Future Movement affirms that the true challenge for this system lies not only in its technical and administrative success, but also in its ability to provide fair and equitable emergency services to all Syrians in all governorates, regardless of their affiliations or locations.
The Syrian Future Movement hopes that these services will reach the most vulnerable groups, particularly internally displaced persons (IDPs), whose numbers, according to recent UN reports, have reached approximately 173,100 in the governorates of Aleppo, Hasakah, and Raqqa, in addition to residents of rural and remote areas.
The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes that building trust between citizens and state institutions is the cornerstone of the success of any national project at this stage.
Therefore, we call upon the Ministry of Health to adopt transparent mechanisms for measuring the performance of the new operations room and to publish periodic performance indicators. This will ensure accountability and objective evaluation, and contribute to gaining the trust of civil society and national and international health organizations, following the approach the Movement has adopted in supporting transitional justice, the missing, and national reconciliation efforts.
The Syrian Future Movement affirms that reconstruction is not limited to rebuilding physical structures, but primarily encompasses building a new generation of Syrians who enjoy their full rights, foremost among them the right to life and healthcare.
We believe that developing the ambulance system is a fundamental building block in a comprehensive national project for the advancement of the health sector.
The Syrian Future Movement affirms its full support for every national effort aimed at alleviating the suffering of Syrians and improving their living conditions and access to services. It calls upon the Syrian government and all state institutions to continue developing their operational mechanisms, adopting modern technological solutions, and expanding partnerships with civil society organizations and donor agencies to ensure the sustainability and development of these vital services.
The Syrian Future Movement reiterates its call to all Syrians to cooperate positively with these national initiatives and to report any observations or suggestions that contribute to improving the performance of the ambulance system. It emphasizes that concerted efforts between the state and society are the surest guarantee for Syria’s safe passage to stability and the achievement of the desired renaissance.
