Signing of service and development agreements between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Syria

In light of the positive transformations taking place in Syria following the fall of the tyrannical regime in December 2024, and with the ongoing efforts to rebuild the Syrian state on democratic and inclusive foundations, the Syrian Future Movement welcomes the arrival of the official Saudi delegation to Damascus on Sunday, August 31, 2025, headed by Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief), and the signing of service and development agreements between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the new Syrian government.

We believe this step represents an important development in strengthening Arab-Syrian relations and opening up horizons for humanitarian and development cooperation that supports Syria’s stability and reconstruction, while ensuring the preservation of national sovereignty and Syria’s supreme interests.

The Syrian Future Movement, as a national, civil political entity born from the blessed Syrian revolution, affirms its commitment to a comprehensive national vision for building a stable, pluralistic state. It values the focus on health, education, and basic services, which meet the needs of the Syrian people, who have suffered for years from the effects of war and marginalization. We believe that these agreements should be a step toward improving living conditions and supporting coexistence among all components of the Syrian people, while taking advantage of the lifting of international sanctions in June 2025 as a historic opportunity for reconstruction based on national priorities.

The Syrian Future Movement calls for these projects to be implemented under the supervision of independent national institutions, free from any suspicion of corruption or political manipulation, to ensure that support reaches those who deserve it and to strengthen trust between the people and the government. We also call for the involvement of civil society and political forces in oversight mechanisms to achieve effectiveness and fairness.

The Syrian Future Movement calls for strengthening security and regional cooperation in the context of confronting external challenges, including Iranian influence and terrorist threats. We call for expanding the partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to include information exchange and economic support, while preserving Syrian sovereignty in the face of regional rivalries such as those with Turkey and the UAE.

The Syrian Future Movement calls on our brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries to continue supporting the Syrian people, not only through service projects, but also through diplomatic pressure to achieve a just political solution that guarantees the dignity and human rights of Syrians, and the broad participation of all national forces in shaping the country’s future. This solution, free from exclusion, monopolization of decisions, or the success of separatist and subversive projects, must be conditioned on genuine reforms, the consolidation of political pluralism, and freedom of political activity. This must be accompanied by a commitment to the principles of the Syrian revolution and the values of the state, to achieve regional stability that serves the interests of all Arab peoples.

We also declare that we will closely monitor the implementation of these agreements and call on all parties to engage in a comprehensive national dialogue to build the future of Syria.
