Every year, on June 26, the world commemorates the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, a day chosen by the United Nations to mobilize international efforts against this silent threat that targets societies from within and undermines their moral, health, and economic structure.
Syrian Future Movement Some state institutions were harnessed to serve trafficking networks and facilitate smuggling operations. Under Assad, the country exported more death through Captagon than life and dignity, and drugs were a tool to drown resistant societies, break the will of individuals, and tarnish the image of the revolution.
Syrian Future Movement In a post-liberation Syria, our fight against drugs will be an essential part of the battle to restore the state and society. We will continue to launch a comprehensive national plan that integrates deterrence, treatment, and education policies, and restructures the security and judicial apparatus to cut the roots of corruption and collusion.
Syrian Future Movement In this context, our youth pledge to create real alternatives that will restore their hope, instead of being left as prey to loss. We also affirm that the future Syria will be a state that protects its children from the poisons of trafficking and crime, not a state that legitimizes or turns a blind eye to them, as the Syria we dream of is a Syria of free minds, fair opportunities, and a recovering society.
