Syrian Future Movement Based on our national and moral responsibility to promote scientific awareness and strategic planning for natural and cosmic risks, we declare our solidarity with international efforts to commemorate the International Asteroid Day, which falls on June 30 of each year and was approved by the United Nations General Assembly to commemorate the Tunguska incident in 1908 and to promote global awareness of asteroid risks to the planet Earth.
Syrian Future Movement This day emphasizes the importance of science as a path to survival and construction. Just as the countries of the world join hands to monitor Near Earth Objects (NEOs) and develop preventive mechanisms, we see this day as an opportunity to establish a culture of preparedness for unexpected crises and risks, including those caused by astronomical phenomena.
Syrian Future Movement In a country that has suffered from human and climatic disasters, using such events to promote science, research, and urban planning is part of the overall national recovery process, especially in educational settings and youth centers.
Syrian Future Movement It is proposed to make June 30 a national space to reflect on man’s relationship with the universe. This day can be turned into an occasion to promote dialogue between scientists and citizens through lectures and community initiatives that explore the interconnectedness of the planet and space and reignite the scientific curiosity of the younger generations.
Syrian Future Movement He emphasizes the link between peace and awareness and knowledge. Just as asteroids pose a threat to the earth from the sky, the absence of awareness and knowledge poses a threat to the future of nations from within. Therefore, we consider that promoting scientific culture is not a luxury, but a condition for stability and construction.
