The dissolution of the Eighth Brigade in Daraa

The Syrian Future Movement welcomes the decision to dissolve the Eighth Brigade affiliated with the Fifth Corps in Daraa Governorate and to transfer its military and human resources to the Syrian Ministry of Defense.

The Syrian Future Movement considers this historic step as marking a new phase toward building the modern Syrian state institutions, founded on the rule of law and the unity of Syrian territory.

The Syrian Future Movement views this decision as a model to be followed in terms of peaceful and organized transition, away from any manifestations of military conflict. It represents a strong boost toward unifying national efforts under the umbrella of the Syrian state, reinforcing national unity and achieving the desired stability in southern Syria and across the country.

The Syrian Future Movement calls on all Syrian parties to seize this opportunity and work to expand understandings to include all other Syrian regions, ensuring that everyone falls under the umbrella of the Syrian state on the basis of inclusive national dialogue that upholds the principle of equal citizenship and strengthens the values of justice and freedom.

The Syrian Future Movement stresses the importance of accompanying this step with tangible measures that enhance the Syrian people’s trust in the institutions of their state and create the conditions for a phase of reconstruction and development, in parallel with achieving national reconciliation.
