We call for opening the door for the recruitment of men of faith in the army and the General Security Service, including land, air, sea and intelligence forces, within the task of providing spiritual guidance and psychological and intellectual preparation for soldiers and recruits and all military ranks, in order to raise their morale and pull the rug out from spreading the ideas of takfiri extremist groups among their ranks and so on, all within a specialized department for moral preparation and guidance.
We believe that the military institution should be subject to the directives and decisions of the civilian political authority, provided that it has full independence with regard to its internal regulations governing military affairs within the institution.
We believe that joining the military and security establishment is voluntary, and we call for an end to the so-called forced conscription in Syria.
