The crime of painting the walls of the Political Security Branch in Latakia

The Syrian Future Movement condemns what was published by the volunteer group “Sawaa’id al-Khayr” on January 13, 2025, through a video on their “Facebook” page, showing their entry into the Political Security Branch in the city of Latakia, where members of the team painted the walls of the center and tampered with its contents.

The Syrian Future Movement considers this crime, even if its motive was ignorance of the dangers of tampering with crime scenes, as something that deserves condemnation and punishment to raise awareness of the dangers of tampering with crime scenes.

The Syrian Future Movement calls on the current Syrian government to investigate the “Sawaa’id al-Khayr” team, while appreciating their role and national volunteer efforts.

The Syrian Future Movement urges the current government to ensure the protection of crime scenes and prevent unauthorized access.

The Syrian Future Movement considers this crime a direct threat to efforts to document the violations believed to have occurred at this center, including identifying the fate of the detainees and holding those responsible for their torture accountable.

The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes the importance of preventing illegal access to these sites and the need to raise awareness about international laws and protocols applied in such cases.
