From the memory of the Syrian revolution: 09/08/2011

On this day in 2011: The people of Umm al-Mayathen in the countryside of Daraa province held a funeral for the engineer and political activist Ma’an Al-Aoudat, who was killed while participating in a funeral procession in the city of Daraa the previous day. A number of engineers staged a sit-in in front of their union building in the city of Daraa to protest against the assassination of Al-Aoudat, but regime forces prevented them from going to Umm al-Mayathen to participate in the funeral procession.
