It is the body responsible for religious and intellectual affairs related to religious discourse within the Syrian Future Movement. It works to consolidate a moderate understanding of Islam, promote the values of citizenship, coexistence, and civil peace, and contribute to building a conscious religious discourse that aligns with the requirements of the modern state while preserving the religious and cultural identity of Syrian society.
The tasks of the Religious Office include:
– Preparing religious visions, positions, and perspectives that are consistent with the Movement’s principles and general vision.
– Promoting the values of moderation and centrism, and rejecting extremism, fanaticism, and intolerance.
– Contributing to the renewal of religious discourse to keep pace with the demands of the times while preserving religious constants.
– Spreading correct religious awareness and promoting sound Islamic culture.
– Consolidating the values of citizenship, coexistence, and mutual respect among the components of Syrian society.
– Supporting efforts toward civil peace, national unity, and social cohesion.
– Participating in religious and intellectual dialogues that promote stability and social understanding.
– Preparing specialized religious and intellectual studies, research, and papers.
– Issuing religious statements and positions related to public issues in accordance with the Movement’s vision. – Organizing lectures, lessons, seminars, and events of a religious and intellectual nature.
– Commemorating religious occasions in a way that promotes positive values and a unifying national identity.
– Monitoring contemporary intellectual and religious issues and offering insights and recommendations regarding them.
– Contributing to strengthening the ethics of public service and the values of responsibility and social commitment.
– Building cooperative relationships with scholars, preachers, researchers, and religious and intellectual institutions.
– Training personnel working in religious and intellectual fields to serve the movement’s mission.
– Contributing to combating hate speech and division and establishing a culture of dialogue and tolerance.
– Supporting religious and community initiatives that serve the public good and enhance social stability.
The role of the Religious Office is manifested through the activities of the office director and staff by participating in religious and intellectual events and activities, preparing specialized studies, research, and articles, issuing statements and positions related to religious affairs, and organizing awareness and dialogue programs. This contributes to establishing a moderate and centrist approach and promoting civil peace and social cohesion, in line with the vision of the Syrian Future Movement and its national and humanitarian goals. In addition to contributing to the development of religious thought that supports the state, institutions, and the rule of law, and promoting the transition from a sectarian mentality to a comprehensive national mentality.
