Statement of Condemnation for the Killing of Activist Heba Hajj Arif

The Syrian Future Movement (SFM) condemns the mafia-style brutal assassination of civil activist Heba Hajj Arif in the countryside of Aleppo.

The Syrian Future Movement (SFM) holds the Syrian Interim Government and the Syrian National Coalition, the opposition, directly responsible for the security of the region and the activists, especially in light of continuous reports of direct and indirect threats from armed groups in the area and towards various individuals.

The Syrian Future Movement (SFM) rejects the interim government’s narrative that the activist committed suicide, considering it in line with Assad’s regime’s method of obscuring the truth and covering up crimes.

The Syrian Future Movement (SFM) calls for the establishment of protection for civil activists and media figures, especially women.

The Syrian Future Movement (SFM) demands the initiation of a free and transparent judicial investigation to uncover the circumstances of the case and insists on the judiciary’s uninterrupted course in holding those involved accountable.

The Syrian Future Movement (SFM) warns against the complacency in such cases, which heralds a bleak future for the region as a whole and particularly for the achievements of the Syrian revolution.

The Syrian Future Movement (SFM) demands the imposition of the strictest legal and judicial penalties on the perpetrators, those involved, and those who cover up for them, wherever they may be.
