The Syrian Future Movement followed with interest the official statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates on February 28, 2026, which affirmed the Syrian Arab Republic’s support for the Arab states that were subjected to Iranian missile and drone attacks, while explicitly rejecting any justification for these attacks under the pretext of responding to American or Israeli attacks.
The Syrian Future Movement welcomes this official position and considers it a principled and patriotic stance consistent with the Arab identity of the Syrian state and with the supreme interests of the Syrian people in this phase of rebuilding sovereignty and national stability.
The Syrian Future Movement affirms the following principles:
- Syrian sovereignty is a red line that cannot be compromised or violated. Syrian territory and its sovereignty must not, under any circumstances, be used as an arena for settling regional or international scores, whether by foreign militias or any other external party.
- An attack on any Arab state is an attack on the entire Arab national security and cannot be accepted or justified under any circumstances or in any context, including the claim that it is a response to other military actions. Arab sovereignty is a non-negotiable principle.
- Syria is an Arab state, and its natural and principled stance is to stand fully with its Arab brethren in confronting any external aggression targeting their sovereignty or national security, without hesitation or neutrality.
The Syrian Future Movement calls on the transitional government to:
- Strengthen effective Arab coordination in confronting external threats and activate mechanisms for joint Arab cooperation to protect sovereignty and national security.
- Insist on ending any illegitimate foreign military presence on Syrian soil, including all forms of presence not agreed upon with the Syrian state, in a manner that preserves full sovereignty.
- Issue clear and firm statements affirming that the Syrian Arab Republic will not be a platform for any aggression against brotherly Arab states, regardless of the pretexts or contexts.
The Syrian Future Movement reiterates its commitment to working towards an independent Arab Syria that respects the sovereignty of its brethren, protects its national security, and seeks balanced relations with all regional and international parties without engaging in axes of settling scores at the expense of the Syrian people.
