The anniversary of Isra and Mi’raj

On the anniversary of Isra and Mi’raj, the Muslim Ummah recalls one of the greatest moments of divine selection in the history of the message, a moment when heaven and earth were linked, prophethood and sanctity, and Mecca and Jerusalem, affirming that Al-Aqsa Mosque has never been a marginal aspect of our faith, but has always been at the heart of the message and the center of the Ummah’s civilizational consciousness.

The Syrian Future Movement affirms that commemorating this anniversary today is incomplete without considering the contemporary reality of our Ummah, where the meanings of Isra and Mi’raj are renewed in the hearts of a people who have risen from the rubble and reclaimed their will after years of oppression and displacement.

Syria, which is today regaining its civilizational vitality and rising from its long period of decline, is returning to its rightful place at the heart of the Ummah’s major issues, foremost among them the Palestinian cause and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Syrian Future Movement believes that Syria’s resurgence from its wounds is not an isolated local event, but rather a new chapter in the restoration of balance to the body of the nation, a declaration that the era of surrender was not inevitable, and that living nations are capable of reclaiming their role and mission.

Therefore, the approaching recovery of Syria is, in its deepest sense, the approaching recovery of Jerusalem, because a nation that regains its consciousness regains its compass and returns to its first direction of prayer.

We in the Syrian Future Movement do not see Al-Aqsa Mosque, the third holiest site in Islam, as merely a stone and a historical artifact, but rather as a sacred trust of faith, a testament of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and a covenant from Heaven to Earth.

Our need today in Syria is to connect our sons and daughters to this trust, not only through sentimental tales, but also through building a new awareness that makes Jerusalem an integral part of our identity, not just a fleeting news item.

Our educational, advocacy, and cultural responsibility within the Syrian Future Movement is to instill in future generations the meaning of Al-Aqsa as a symbol of dignity and justice, and the meaning of the Isra’ (Night Journey) as a divine promise that after hardship comes ease, and after defeat comes a new ascension.

The Syrian Future Movement believes that in a time when attempts to sever the nation from its sacred sites are multiplying, commemorating this anniversary remains a juncture for renewing the covenant of faith, the covenant of belonging, and the covenant that Syria will remain, as it has always been, the bridge from the East to Jerusalem, and the guardian of awareness in a time of heedlessness.
