Türkiye announces the launch of a support program for Syria under the umbrella of “COMSEC”.

The Syrian Future Movement welcomes the launch of a support program for Syria under the auspices of the Economic and Commercial Cooperation Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC), announced by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, as a positive step towards rebuilding regional economic and development relations on the foundations of cooperation and respect for national sovereignty.

We in the Syrian Future Movement see this announcement as an indication that the Syrian issue is entering a new phase, characterized by a shift from emergency humanitarian aid to sustainable development support, which will be formulated jointly by the international community and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

This shift reflects a growing recognition of the legitimacy of the Syrian transitional government and its increasing standing within the Arab and Islamic systems.

While the Syrian Future Movement appreciates Turkey’s role within this collective framework, we emphasize that preserving national sovereignty and the unity of Syrian territory remains a crucial criterion in any regional or international partnership.

Cooperation with our brothers must be based on the principle of equality and mutual respect, not on any form of guardianship or subservience.

The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes the necessity for development support programs to be under the control of Syrian national institutions and direct government oversight, ensuring transparency and the equitable distribution of projects across all regions without discrimination. Rebuilding the state can only be achieved by empowering the Syrian people and restoring their role as active participants in the development process.

The Syrian Future Movement considers this step a strategic opportunity to bolster political and economic stability and the beginning of a new era of balanced Islamic and Arab partnerships, moving Syria from a time of war to one of reconstruction and shared prosperity.

The hope remains that these initiatives will translate into tangible projects that serve the Syrian citizen and restore confidence in the future of a free, independent, and open Syrian state, engaged with its Arab and Islamic neighbors.
