Launching the largest British medical mission to Syria

The Syrian Future Movement followed with great interest the announcement by the British organization Action for Humanity of the launch of the largest medical mission to Syria since the beginning of the liberation. This mission, on September 23, 2025, involved more than fifty doctors from the British National Health Service (NHS). This unprecedented humanitarian step reflects the depth of international solidarity with the Syrian people in their ongoing ordeal.

The Syrian Future Movement believes that this initiative, targeting five Syrian governorates, represents more than a temporary medical intervention. Rather, it represents a seed of life planted in a land exhausted by bleeding, and a sigh of healing in the heart of a nation yearning for recovery. It is a clear message that the world has not forgotten Syria, and that humanity is still capable of breaking through the walls of pain.

The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes that the importance of this event is manifested in:

  • Restoring life to a dilapidated healthcare system, of which less than 60% of hospitals are operational.
  • Training local personnel to ensure the sustainability of healthcare after the mission ends.
  • Confronting the ongoing threat of unexploded ordnance (UXOs), which claim the lives of children before they even dream of life.

The Syrian Future Movement recommends launching the “Syrian Healing Charter,” a national initiative to unify the efforts of local and international organizations in rebuilding the health sector under a transparent and independent umbrella. We also recommend establishing a national bank of medical expertise to document and exchange knowledge among Syrian doctors at home and abroad, and connect them to international training programs.

While appreciating this noble step, the Syrian Future Movement emphasizes that true healing begins when political will combines with humanitarian initiatives, and when the human being is rebuilt before the physical.
Let us all be part of this transformation, and let us turn pain into energy, wounds into a beacon, and Syria into a story of healing to be told for generations.
