In light of national and international efforts to promote justice and human rights in Syria, the Syrian Future Movement is closely following developments related to the issue of missing persons and forcibly detained persons, which has been a deep wound in the Syrian people’s hearts since the outbreak of the peaceful revolution against tyranny.
The Syrian Future Movement believes that the announcement by the National Commission for Missing Persons of its intention to launch an international support platform, in cooperation with international humanitarian and political organizations, represents a positive and progressive step toward unifying efforts to uncover the fate of thousands of Syrians who disappeared in mysterious circumstances, without time or geographic restrictions. Strengthening cooperation with relevant Lebanese authorities also reflects a shared awareness of the importance of regional coordination to confront the systematic violations committed by the Syrian regime and its militias.
The Syrian Future Movement affirms its full support for this initiative, considering it an essential part of the process of building a future Syria based on the principles of transitional justice, respect for human rights, and the restoration of national unity. We also call on all international and regional parties to contribute effectively to this platform by providing technical, legal, and media support to ensure comprehensive coverage of all cases related to the missing and achieve justice for victims and their families.
The Syrian Future Movement, born out of the Syrian revolution, is committed to continuing to build bridges of cooperation among all segments of the Syrian spectrum, to achieve a comprehensive national vision that guarantees the dignity of the Syrian people and a secure future.
