World Friendship Day

On a day when the earth beats with loyal hearts, the Syrian Future Movement commemorates the annual International Day of Friendship, which was established by the United Nations General Assembly on July 30, 2011. This day is a time when souls shake hands before hands, and when relationships rise from interests to sublime bonds that nourish humanity with peace.

The Syrian Future Movement believes that when homelands become narrow and storms intensify, nothing remains to comfort a person except a sincere friend.
In Syria, where the people have witnessed enough suffering to make them grow old, we believe that friendship is not a luxury, but a necessity for building the human being before building the earth.
It is the light that never goes out, even in the darkest moments.

The Syrian Future Movement considers this day a platform for rebuilding the Syrian social fabric and promoting a culture of dialogue and reconciliation through targeted projects that include youth, civil society, and marginalized groups, and that elevate the value of friendship as a foundation for peace and coexistence.

The Syrian Future Movement believes that in the presence of friendship, walls break down, and homelands are born from the womb of brotherhood. That is why we call for this day to be an annual date to renew the covenant that what unites us is greater and more sublime than what divides us.
