Ministry of Endowments statement on the fires that swept the Syrian coast

The Syrian Future Movement is following with deep concern the environmental disaster taking place in the Syrian coastal regions, particularly in the Latakia countryside, where fires have devoured thousands of hectares of forests, causing significant damage to lives, property, and natural resources.

The Syrian Future Movement appreciates the statement issued by the Ministry of Endowments on July 11, 2025, calling on preachers and religious leaders to devote a portion of their Friday sermons to praying for those affected and to participate in relief efforts in cooperation with the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management.

The statement also called on citizens to provide support and assistance, affirming its full solidarity with those affected.

The Syrian Future Movement declares its full support for this initiative and considers it a positive model for the role of religious institutions in promoting national solidarity, regardless of political or sectarian divisions.

The Syrian Future Movement affirms that support in such crises is a religious and moral duty and calls on all citizens to stand united and provide all possible forms of support, whether through donations, volunteering, or prayer.

The Syrian Future Movement warns against exploiting this disaster for media or political purposes. It emphasizes that the affliction is shared, the responsibility is collective, and that this moment calls for sincere national unity.

Therefore, we recommend reinforcing this approach through an official presidential recommendation that issues a national call to hold the Istisqa’ prayer in all Syrian mosques and squares, with the participation of all leadership cadres. This would divine mercy at a time of increasing drought and suffering.be a unified prayer for all citizens, regardless of their affiliations, expressing a sense of unity in pain and hope, and a call for
