The Syrian Future Movement strongly condemns the Israeli military escalation in the town of Beit Jinn in western Damascus countryside, which occurred at dawn on Thursday, June 12, 2025. The operation resulted in the martyrdom of the young man Mohammad Ahmad Hamadeh and the arrest of seven youths during raids carried out by Netanyahu’s government forces. We believe these ongoing assaults reflect a dangerous approach that threatens the security and stability of the region and clearly violates international laws and UN charters.
The Syrian Future Movement affirms that this military escalation is not an isolated incident. It was preceded by repeated incursions into Syrian border areas, including the operation on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, during which Netanyahu’s government forces stormed the village of Al-Qahṭāniyah in the Quneitra countryside, firing shots into the air and causing panic among civilian residents. Similarly, on Sunday, June 8, 2025, bulldozing operations targeted agricultural lands in southern Quneitra countryside, and a flock of sheep belonging to a local resident was confiscated — a blatant violation of fundamental rights guaranteed under international law.
The Syrian Future Movement stresses that these ongoing assaults, along with espionage and surveillance operations using drones, represent a direct violation of the United Nations Charter, which stipulates respect for the sovereignty of states and non-interference in their internal affairs. These actions also contribute to escalating chaos, creating a fertile environment for the growth of extremist groups such as ISIS — a threat that is not limited to Syria alone, but extends to regional and international security.
The Syrian Future Movement calls on the United States of America and the international community to take a firm stance against Netanyahu’s government and to halt the Israeli military escalation that threatens regional stability. We also urge our government in Damascus to request an emergency session of the UN Security Council to discuss these violations and hold those responsible accountable in accordance with international law, as establishing stability along the Syrian borders requires international pressure to stop Israeli military interventions and ensure the protection of innocent civilians.
The Syrian Future Movement affirms that the only path to achieving peace lies in adherence to international treaties and respect for the rights of peoples to live safely within their territories, free from occupation and military provocations. We call on all active parties to take immediate action to protect the Syrian people and ensure regional stability in accordance with international laws and resolutions.
