On the anniversary of the Great Battle of Badr, “The Day of Criterion”

*In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful*

“If you support Allah, He will support you and plant firmly your feet.” (Muhammad: 7)

On the anniversary of the Great Battle of Badr, which marked a historic turning point in the struggle for truth and freedom, the Religious Office of the Syrian Future Movement extends its congratulations to Muslims everywhere, to our Syrian people, and to all free individuals striving for justice and dignity around the world.

The Battle of Badr is not merely a historical event; it is an eternal lesson in sacrifice, patience, and strategic planning. It proved that the collective will of the oppressed can achieve victory against injustice and tyranny. Today, as we enter the post-liberation phase of Syria from the authoritarian regime, we recall these great values as inspiration for building a modern state founded on the principles of freedom, equality, and justice.

The Syrian Future Movement views the Battle of Badr as a reminder that true victory is not achieved by arms alone but through unity, faith in principles, and collective action that prioritizes the nation’s interest above all else. Just as Badr was the beginning of building a society based on justice and faith, Syria’s liberation must be the beginning of a new era—one in which a state of equal citizenship is established, governed by law and institutions that protect the rights of all without discrimination or exclusion.

At this critical stage, the Syrian Future Movement calls for drawing inspiration from the spirit of Badr in confronting the major challenges facing Syria, from reconstruction to achieving national reconciliation. We must work together to transform the victory over tyranny into a civilizational project that rebuilds Syria on new foundations—enshrining political and cultural pluralism, ensuring transitional justice, and safeguarding the country from the return of corruption and despotism.

The Religious Office of the Syrian Future Movement affirms that Syria’s future must be built by the free will of its people and with the participation of all its citizens, free from external dominance or the revival of oppressive models of the past. Just as Badr was the “Day of Criterion” that distinguished truth from falsehood, we believe that the new Syria will be a criterion between an era of oppression and an era of freedom and dignity.

The Syrian Future Movement salutes all those who have sacrificed for freedom and dignity and pledges that the memory of Badr will remain a lasting source of inspiration in building the Syria of the future—a Syria where the dignity of every citizen is upheld and the dreams of its martyrs are realized.
