From the memory of the Syrian revolution: 04/12/2011

On this day in 2011: A student protest took place at Shukri Hakim School in the Slaiba neighborhood of Latakia city on “Sunday of Father Paolo.” The area witnessed a heavy security presence searching for the protesting students. “Sham Network” reported that regime forces carried out a wide-ranging arrest campaign in the southern Raml (Palestinian) neighborhood, targeting even passersby walking with their families on the streets. The arrest of young man Mohammad Hanouf (30 years old) from his home in the Sakan Tori neighborhood at dawn was documented. “Sham Network” also reported that regime forces launched a large-scale arrest campaign in the village of Bikas in the Haffa area, preceded by intense gunfire.
