Holy Tuesday

The Syrian Future Movement extends its warmest congratulations to all members of the Syrian Christian community, across all denominations, on this year when prayers and hearts unite in accordance with the Eastern and Western calendars, on the occasion of Holy Tuesday, the third day of Holy Week. The Syrian Future Movement wishes them and all Syrians days filled with peace and blessings, and prays that this holy season will bring stability and harmony to Syria.

The Syrian Future Movement commends the responsible national spirit demonstrated by the Syrian Christian community during recent events, and in particular, we acknowledge the wisdom and composure shown by the dignitaries and religious leaders of the city of Al-Suqaylabiyah in containing the signs of discord and strengthening civil peace. We believe that this steadfastness in the face of attempts at escalation reflects a profound national awareness and a shared responsibility to protect the unique social fabric of Syria.

The Syrian Future Movement affirms that the Christian presence in Syria is not merely a “minority,” but rather an integral and fundamental part of Syria’s historical and contemporary identity. The security, stability, and participation of Syrian Christians are a strategic necessity and an essential requirement for building the “Syria of the future”—a democratic, civil state based on equal citizenship and the preservation of pluralism and freedom of worship as inherent rights that cannot be marginalized.

The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes that a strong Syria can only be built through the solidarity of all its religious and ethnic components, far removed from exclusionary policies that weaken the unified national body.

Accordingly, the Syrian Future Movement recommends the following:

  • Institutionalizing security and legal measures to guarantee the permanent protection of all places of worship as sacred national symbols.
  • Ensuring effective and genuine representation of the Christian community and all Syrian communities in all aspects of the political process and development decision-making.
  • Launching comprehensive national programs that enshrine the values of tolerance and coexistence in curricula and media to strengthen social resilience.

In conclusion, the Syrian Future Movement reiterates its congratulations to our Christian brothers and sisters, asking God Almighty to grant Syria salvation and unity, and that love may remain the supreme bond among the sons and daughters of the one nation.
