On the occasion of World Post Day, celebrated annually on October 9th, commemorating the founding of the Universal Postal Union in 1874 in Bern, Switzerland, this international event aims to highlight the importance of postal services as a tool for communication, development, and public services in a world moving toward digitalization and network integration.
The Syrian Future Movement extends its greetings and appreciation to all workers in the Syrian postal sector, who continue to perform their duties under exceptional circumstances and constitute a vital bridge connecting citizens inside and outside Syria.
The Syrian Future Movement views the national postal system as more than just a logistical service; it is a symbol of sovereignty, a lever for development, and a tool for social justice, especially in rural and remote areas where digital services are not easily accessible. In the process of rebuilding Syria, we believe that modernizing the postal sector and linking it to digital transformation is a strategic step toward strengthening the local economy, linking imports and exports to the global economy, facilitating access to government services, and expanding the scope of domestic and international e-commerce.
On this occasion, the Syrian Future Movement calls for:
- Restructuring the Syrian Postal Corporation to meet international standards of efficiency and transparency.
- Launching digital postal services, including smart tracking, electronic payment, and home delivery.
- Encouraging postal innovation through partnerships with local and international technology companies.
- Integrating postal services into sustainable development plans, making them part of the modern national infrastructure.
We at the Syrian Future Movement also emphasize that postal services, despite their apparent simplicity, carry profound human and national value. They deliver letters, parcels, and hope, embodying the idea of a state that reaches its citizens wherever they are.
On World Post Day, the Syrian Future Movement salutes all those who have carried a letter, parcel, or document, traveling across roads and borders to reach their recipients. We pledge to ensure that the Syrian Post becomes part of our national project to build a modern, just, connected, and effective state.
