In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
In the name of the love that Jesus Christ, peace be upon him, commanded us to uphold, and in the spirit of national brotherhood that unites us on the blessed land of Syria, the Syrian Future Movement issues this statement:
We, in the Syrian Future Movement, have followed with great interest the letter addressed by a group of Syrian Christian clerics to the US Congress, demanding the repeal of the Caesar Act, which has inflicted significant harm on the Syrian people, impacting their livelihoods, the stability of their people, and the continued existence of its authentic components, including our Christian brothers, who were and continue to be an integral part of Syria’s cultural and spiritual fabric.
The Syrian Future Movement, as it confidently moves toward supporting the construction of a new Syria and the success of the transitional phase toward building state institutions, sees in this letter a sincere expression of shared pain, a desire to be freed from the effects of war, corruption, and tyranny, and aspiration for a state of justice and dignity where no one is oppressed, no one is excluded, and no entire people is punished because of a bygone ruling clique.
The Syrian Future Movement believes that the sanctions imposed on the Syrian people, although intended to pressure the former regime, are currently hindering national recovery efforts, burdening citizens, and threatening the stability of the transitional phase we are all working to ensure the success of the process of rebuilding state institutions.
From this standpoint, we in the Syrian Future Movement commend the stance of Christian clerics, considering it a patriotic voice emanating from a living conscience. We also renew our call to the international community to reconsider the sanctions imposed on Syria, ensuring the protection of civilians, supporting transitional institutions, and enabling the Syrian people to regain a dignified life.
The Syrian Future Movement affirms that the new Syria is a homeland for all its people, Muslims and Christians, Arabs and Kurds, men and women, and that our national unity is the primary pillar for building a just state. We also call on our brothers in the Islamic and Christian world to support Syria at this stage, to contribute to lifting the injustice against it, and to support reconciliation and reconstruction efforts.
In conclusion, we say as the Messenger of Islam, Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
“The believer is to the believer like a building, each part strengthening the other.”
And as Jesus, peace be upon him, said:
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”
Let us all be peacemakers, builders of a nation, and protectors of the future.
And God is the Grantor of success.
