The Syrian Future Movement is following with great interest the announcement made by the Independent National Investigation Commission on September 27, 2025, regarding the referral of 298 individuals accused of assaulting civilians and 265 individuals accused of assaulting public security personnel to the competent judiciary. This decision comes against the backdrop of the painful events witnessed in the Syrian coastal region, particularly the Jableh countryside, between March 10 and 17, 2025.
While appreciating this responsible national step, the Syrian Future Movement emphasizes that this referral represents an important turning point in the path of national justice and reflects a clear will to hold accountable those involved in violations and to protect citizens’ rights, regardless of any political or factional considerations.
The Syrian Future Movement believes that the work of the Independent National Investigation Commission, which began on April 2, 2025, was characterized by a high degree of transparency and professionalism, as evidenced by the publication of its full report by the Ministry of Justice on September 28, 2025. This strengthens confidence in state institutions and confirms its commitment to the principle of justice. Furthermore, the referral of the accused to the judiciary sends a clear message that crimes and violations will not go unpunished, and that the state is committed to protecting civil peace and restoring dignity to victims and their families.
The Syrian Future Movement calls for this step to open the door to national reconciliation based on fairness and recognition of rights, contributing to the building of the state of law and institutions desired by all Syrians.
The Syrian Future Movement reiterates its full support for every sincere national effort seeking to achieve justice and affirms its readiness to cooperate with relevant parties to consolidate a culture of accountability, strengthen national unity, and build a future worthy of the sacrifices of the people of Syria.
