Launch of the “Building Syria – Syria Build” exhibition

The Syrian Future Movement welcomes the launch of the first “Syria Build” exhibition, held at the Damascus Fairgrounds, with the participation of 157 companies from Syria and around the world, including 32 Arab and foreign companies. This event comes at a pivotal time in Syria’s history, as the country enters a phase of reconstruction and rebuilding after years of war and division.

The Syrian Future Movement believes that the exhibition’s importance in the context of the new Syria lies in its role as a strategic platform for exchanging expertise and innovations in the construction sector, which Syria needs at this stage to rebuild its infrastructure and vital facilities. It also reflects Syria’s openness to international partnerships and confirms that the country is now ready to welcome investments and development initiatives. It also represents an opportunity to activate the Syrian private sector and enhance its role in economic development, free from the monopoly and corruption that prevailed in the previous phase.

The Syrian Future Movement considers the “Building Syria” exhibition a declaration of a new beginning, requiring a comprehensive national vision for reconstruction based on transparency, justice, and community participation. The movement affirms its full support for all initiatives that seek to build Syria on modern and sustainable foundations.

The Syrian Future Movement recommends the following:

  1. The launch of an independent national reconstruction commission, comprising experts from within and outside Syria, operating according to international standards to ensure integrity and efficiency. This is what we emphasized and detailed in our study published on our official website, entitled “Syria and Reconstruction,” dated September 18, 2024.
  2. Involving local communities in urban planning to ensure that construction projects are compatible with the needs and aspirations of the population.
  3. Incentivizing Syrian startups by providing tax and financing incentives to enable them to be an active part of the construction process.
  4. Linking the exhibition to vocational training projects to qualify thousands of young Syrians to work in the construction sector, thus contributing to reducing unemployment.
  5. Launching a digital platform to monitor reconstruction projects, allowing citizens to access information and accountability, and ensuring transparency in the implementation of contracts and projects.

The Syrian Future Movement calls on all national forces, economic institutions, and international partners to consider reconstruction a comprehensive national project, not subject to quotas or political manipulation, but rather a gateway to a future worthy of the sacrifices of the Syrian people.
