The Syrian Future Movement warmly welcomes the statements made by the US Ambassador to the United Nations, Ms. Dorothy Shea, in which she announced that Washington has begun lifting sanctions imposed on Syria, fulfilling President Donald Trump’s promise and aiming to support security, stability, and prosperity for the Syrian people.
We, in the Syrian Future Movement, consider this step a significant shift in the international stance toward the Syrian people and an affirmation that Syrians deserve a dignified life and a prosperous future, free from the siege and sanctions that have burdened them for years.
The Syrian Future Movement calls on the international community, especially UN member states, to follow the example of the United States and work to consolidate this positive trend through practical steps to lift sanctions, facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid, and encourage political solutions that guarantee Syria’s unity and the dignity of its people.
The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes that lifting sanctions must be part of a comprehensive vision for rebuilding Syria—politically, economically, and socially—in a way that ensures justice and accountability and ends the suffering of Syrians at home and abroad.
The Syrian Future Movement will continue to work to achieve the aspirations of Syrians for freedom and dignity, and will support every sincere international effort that contributes to ending sanctions and opening a new page of cooperation and construction. This is what we emphasized in our previous positions, most notably the one we issued on July 1, 2025, entitled “Strategic Messages on the US Decision to Lift Sanctions on Syria.”
