Israeli movements in the Quneitra countryside

The Syrian Future Movement is following with deep concern the recent Israeli military movements in the Quneitra countryside. These movements included a military deployment inside an abandoned house north of the village of Taranja on the morning of Saturday, August 2, 2025. This deployment was accompanied by military alert, heavy machinery, and arrests of Syrian civilians, including three individuals who were arrested while using a tractor to transport tree remains in the area.

The Syrian Future Movement considers these practices an extension of the repeated violations witnessed in southern Syria since the fall of the former regime on December 8, 2024, which included Israeli raids on Syrian military sites aimed at preventing the rehabilitation of defense infrastructure.

The Syrian Future Movement affirms that these Israeli movements represent a clear violation of Syrian sovereignty, a serious challenge to the principles of international law, and a direct threat to social and political stability in the post-conflict phase.

While condemning these attacks, the Syrian Future Movement calls for the following:

  1. Urgent diplomatic action by Syrian national forces to mobilize a clear international position against these violations.
  2. Strengthen local civil coordination in southern Syria to ensure the protection of civilians and document violations.
  3. Call on the United Nations and international human rights organizations to send monitoring and fact-finding teams to the region as soon as possible.
  4. Reaffirm our commitment to the principles of the Syrian revolution in building a sovereign state based on justice and human dignity.

The Syrian Future Movement, while placing these developments within the broader context of the challenges facing Syria during the reconstruction phase, emphasizes that protecting southern Syria is an integral part of the project to restore the state, and that any leniency in confronting these violations will undermine national stability efforts and increase the fragility of the transitional period.
