The Syrian Future Movement welcomes the issuance of Presidential Decree No. (16) of 2025, which stipulates the cancellation of all precautionary seizure orders issued between 2012 and 2024. We consider this a corrective step on the path to justice and an end to an era of arbitrary measures that wrongfully affected thousands of Syrians.
The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes that the Syrian people have long suffered from precautionary seizure decisions issued under the direction and supervision of repressive security agencies, which led to the unjust confiscation of personal and institutional property. Therefore, the cancellation of these decisions and the review of financial and legal policies is a necessary step toward building a state of law and institutions, where financial rights must be guaranteed for all in accordance with the principles of justice and transparency.
The Syrian Future Movement stresses the importance of ensuring the implementation of this decision by the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Interior, and the Ministry of Justice, and of guaranteeing the restoration of rights to their rightful owners. This would contribute to rebuilding trust between citizens and the state and support efforts for reconstruction and economic stability.
