Regarding the World Day for Safety and Health at Work

The World Day for Safety and Health at Work, observed on April 28, reminds us of the importance of providing safe and healthy working environments for all workers and protecting their rights to humane working conditions that guarantee their dignity and safety. At a time when the world is witnessing an unprecedented digital transformation — with artificial intelligence and automation becoming key tools in improving occupational safety standards — Syria continues to suffer from exceptional challenges. The post-Assad era remains affected by the deterioration of working environments and the worsening of occupational hazards, leaving Syrian workers exposed to serious risks across industrial, agricultural, and service sectors.

The Syrian Future Movement stresses the need to adopt national policies that protect workers and guarantee them safe and healthy working environments, free from exploitation and danger.

The Syrian Future Movement calls for strengthening the role of relevant institutions in monitoring and ensuring the application of occupational safety standards in line with international norms, with a focus on workers’ rights in sectors affected by the conflict, and ensuring the necessary support for rehabilitating workplaces to keep pace with modern digital transformations.

The Syrian Future Movement urges the international community and organizations concerned with human and labor rights to intensify their efforts to support Syrian workers and to contribute to rebuilding an economy that places human beings at the heart of development, ensuring the provision of safe workplaces that respect dignity and rights.

The Syrian Future Movement believes that Syria’s future can only be built by the hands of its own people, working in environments that guarantee them safety, security, and well-being. Accordingly, we affirm our commitment to striving toward achieving these goals and supporting every initiative that strengthens workers’ rights and provides them with protection and dignity in the workplace.
