The release of Syrian businessman Mohannad Al-Masri by the United Arab Emirates

The Syrian Future Movement warmly welcomes the humanitarian step represented by the release of Syrian businessman Muhannad Al-Masri, Chairman of Damasco Company, who had been detained in the UAE since 2019 on charges of supporting terrorism. This step coincides with the historic visit of President Ahmad Al-Shara‘ and reflects a positive shift in addressing the issues of Syrian citizens, reaffirming the importance of protecting their rights and dignity wherever they may be.

The *Syrian Future Movement* considers this incident a model to be followed in promoting a culture of protecting Syrian citizens both inside and outside the country. We call for it to become a consistent approach in Syrian policy.

The Syrian Future Movement calls for the release of all Syrian detainees who have been imprisoned due to their political stances or affiliation with the Syrian revolution, whether in Lebanon, Iraq, France, or any other place.

The Syrian Future Movement regards the protection of Syrian citizens’ rights as a national priority and a responsibility that falls upon the Syrian state and all its institutions. Therefore, we call for intensified diplomatic efforts to ensure the safety and dignity of Syrians around the world and to work on rebuilding trust between the state and its citizens, in order to achieve the Syrian people’s aspirations for freedom, dignity, and justice.

The Syrian Future Movement affirms that this step represents a new beginning of hope for Syrians. We call for continued efforts to achieve justice and the release of all detainees, contributing to building a bright future for Syria and its people.
