The Syrian Future Movement congratulates our Syrian people in particular, and free peoples in general, on the fourteenth anniversary of the outbreak of the Syrian revolution on 15 March 2011, whose spark began peacefully demanding freedom, dignity, and social justice.
The Syrian Future Movement considers this day an occasion to reassert that the blood of the Syrians and their dreams have not and will not be buried under the rubble of war, and that the future remains possible as long as the collective will is capable of making peace, as the Syrian revolution, in its beginnings, carried the dream of a people demanding a radical reform that ends decades of despotism and corruption, and establishes for Syria a state that enshrines equal citizenship.
The Syrian Future Movement considers that true, complete victory lies in rebuilding on the basis of a new social contract that restores the rights of the Syrians and ensures a genuine democratic transition.
The Syrian Future Movement believes that the anniversary of the revolution imposes upon us a bold critical pause to draw lessons and lay the foundations for the post-Assad regime phase, since the role of Syria today is not only to extinguish the flames of the conflict caused by the fallen regime, but also to transform pain into a comprehensive national project that acknowledges all the victims, achieves reconciliation through transitional justice, and re-establishes the rule of law.
The Syrian Future Movement calls for an immediate cessation of all forms of violence against the new state project, and also calls for launching an inclusive political process under United Nations auspices in which all Syrian factions participate without exclusion.
The Syrian Future Movement calls for lifting the unjust economic sanctions, which increase the suffering of our civilian people, and also calls for supporting reconstruction programs that give priority to the most affected areas and ensure the dignified return of the displaced and refugees.
The Syrian Future Movement stresses the necessity of holding all perpetrators of violations against the Syrian people accountable through independent legal mechanisms, while ensuring that none escape punishment, as an essential step toward achieving national reconciliation.
The Syrian Future Movement calls for empowering Syrian civil society as a fundamental partner in decision-making, and supporting its initiatives aimed at enhancing societal dialogue and building a democratic culture that respects pluralism.
The Syrian Future Movement rejects reducing Syria to an arena for others’ conflicts, and sees that emerging from the dark tunnel begins with everyone’s acknowledgment that today’s Syria is not like yesterday’s, and that liberation has been achieved and our revolution has triumphed, and we have turned the page of the past toward building the Syria of the future and the Syrian future.
