On this day in 2012: Homs province witnessed demonstrations on the “Saturday of Al-Rashid’s Descendants” in several areas, including the neighborhoods of Al-Khalidiya, Al-Qusour, and Deir Ba‘alba in the city of Homs. The demonstration in Al-Khalidiya neighborhood featured the participation of Abdul Baset Al-Sarout, who chanted for Raqqa and Aleppo and sang “Hannīn lil-Hurriyah Hannīn” and “Yala‘an Ruhak Ya Hafez.”
