World Darwin Day

The Syrian Future Movement, on the occasion of Darwin Day, highlights the importance of promoting scientific education

and incorporating evolutionary theories into the Syrian educational curriculum.

The Syrian Future Movement considers Charles Darwin one of the greatest scientists in history, as his theories on natural evolution continue to significantly influence our understanding of life and living organisms.

The Syrian Future Movement views Darwin’s theories of evolution not merely as biological theories but as scientific foundations that expand our understanding of the natural world and provide a scientific framework for comprehending the history of life on our planet.

The Syrian Future Movement believes that Darwin’s contributions have enhanced critical thinking, as these theories help students develop analytical skills, foster scientific awareness, encourage research and inquiry, and inspire innovation and creativity in various scientific fields.

The Syrian Future Movement acknowledges the common misconception that evolutionary theories conflict with religion. However, the Scientific Office of the Syrian Future Movement believes that science and religion can coexist and complement each other. Viewing evolution from a scientific perspective does not negate spiritual or religious values; rather, religion can offer an ethical and spiritual framework that enriches scientific understanding.

The Syrian Future Movement recommends updating educational curricula to include evolutionary theories in a balanced and integrated manner, training teachers to present these theories scientifically and objectively, and engaging the community and families in the education process to enhance mutual understanding.

The Syrian Future Movement hopes that, as Syrians, we can work together towards a future that embraces a comprehensive and integrated understanding of both science and religion through fostering constructive dialogue among different segments of society.
