Demand protest vandalized in Tartous

The Syrian Future Movement denounces the malicious conspiracy to thwart the peaceful movement by cells of the defunct regime, who deliberately staged a counter-demonstration on Sunday, 2025/02/09, in Tartus, where some movements and parties in the region had called for a protest.

The Syrian Future Movement holds the lack of security protection responsible for what happened, as the relevant authorities failed to safeguard the civil demonstrations.

The Syrian Future Movement demands a full and transparent investigation and the harshest penalties for those responsible for orchestrating the counter-demonstration, inciting sectarian accusations, and assaulting protesters at the civil gathering.

The Syrian Future Movement warns against restricting civil movements under any pretext, emphasizing the need to protect them while rejecting counter-demonstrations, considering them a crime punishable by law.

The Syrian Future Movement supports the demands of the solidarity gathering, which included calls against arbitrary dismissals, protection of archaeological sites, rejection of physical violations, and reaffirmation of the importance of civil peace and building a free and democratic Syria.

The Syrian Future Movement calls for raising awareness of the importance of peaceful movements and ensuring they remain constructive and civilized. It emphasizes the right of all Syrians to engage in diverse and differing demonstrations without clashes, stressing that any restriction, obstruction, or confrontational counter-demonstration should be deemed an act of sabotage that must not be tolerated.
