On this day in 2014: Protests erupted in the city of Saraqib and the town of Kafr Nbel in Idlib province during “Friday of Lifting the Siege, Not Evacuating the Besieged.” The protests called for lifting the siege on Homs and other Syrian cities and condemned the Geneva 2 conference. In Kafr Nbel, the protesters raised a banner in English that read, “Syrians are not only against Assad, but also against reactionism and terrorism, and nothing will stop us from defeating our enemies.”
