Assassination of SANA photographer Ibrahim Ajaj

The Syrian Future Movement condemns the assassination of the photographer for the Syrian News Agency “SANA,” Ibrahim Ajaj, who was found murdered on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, shot by unidentified gunmen in the city of Hama after being abducted from in front of his home.

The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes the necessity of protecting journalists and supporting press freedom in Syria.

The Syrian Future Movement stresses that press and media rights are fundamental pillars for establishing stability in Syria and transitioning from brutality and violence to the civility and progress befitting the Syrian people.

The Syrian Future Movement calls on the Ministry of Interior to expedite the investigation into the circumstances of the assassination, bring the perpetrators to justice, and ensure accountability to achieve justice for the victim.
