From the memory of the Syrian revolution: 10/08/2011

On this day in 2011, Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs Oscar Fernández-Taranco presented a report on the situation in Syria to the United Nations Security Council during a closed session. He stated that “the killings in Syria have not stopped,” and reported on extrajudicial executions and cases of soldiers defecting from the army after refusing to follow orders to shoot protesters with the intent to kill.
