Regarding the riots and protests sweeping Istanbul, Turkey.

Syrian Future Movement:
We are keen to avoid interfering in the internal affairs of any country; however, we will address the current events in Istanbul from a perspective that concerns us as Syrians.
It must be stated that the Syrian regime does not see the current Turkish government as an ally (politically or ideologically), and therefore, it has begun to support leftist and secular movements in Turkey, especially after the start of the blessed Syrian revolution. This was clearly demonstrated by the opening of Damascus’s palaces to these parties, the latest being a meeting with the leader of the Republican People’s Party of Turkey on 2013/03/07, followed by a television interview with the “Ulusal” channel and the “Aydınlık” newspaper on 2013/04/02, culminating in the recent bombings that targeted the town of Reyhanlı on the Syrian-Turkish border, which were found to be orchestrated by the Syrian regime.

Syrian Future Movement:
It believes that Bashar al-Assad and his security regime will spare no effort to ignite the fires of discord in Turkey, utilizing some parties loyal to his regime and taking advantage of the presence of Alawites and Kurds connected to the security apparatus in Syria, using various malicious means and methods in which he has become an expert.

Syrian Future Movement:
It calls on Syrians residing in Turkey, especially, to be vigilant during this critical phase and not to assist the devil in spreading this discord across Turkish territory. They should refrain from engaging in riots and instead support and back the government of the honorable Erdogan, who has supported our revolution and graciously hosted us.
