On the arrest of Bishops Boulos Yazigiand Yohanna Ibrahim

The Syrian Future Movement…
The Syrian Future Movement has taken it upon itself to be the voice of the entire Syrian people, embracing all the colors of Syria’s diverse spectrum. Therefore, we view the detention of Bishop Boulos Yazigi—Metropolitan of Aleppo, Alexandretta, and their Dependencies for the Greek Orthodox—and Bishop Yohanna Ibrahim—Metropolitan of Aleppo for the Syriac Orthodox—(regardless of who kidnapped or detained them) as a violation of the most basic human right to live in peace and freedom.
The Syrian Future Movement…
Declares its clear and explicit stance of respecting all divine religions, honoring their followers, and supporting their right to live peacefully and securely on the homeland, “Syria,” especially for those who have neither taken up arms against us nor violated our sanctities.
The Syrian Future Movement…
Calls for the immediate and unconditional release of the two esteemed bishops and urges caution against the dangerous manipulation of religious or sectarian strife under the pretext of minority and majority dynamics in Syria, particularly during this critical and sensitive stage.
Long live Syria for all Syrians!
