The Syrian Future Movement welcomes the release of 11 former detainees, including the sick and children, in Ain al-Arab (Kobani) in Aleppo, as a humanitarian step during this sensitive transitional phase.
The Syrian Future Movement considers this release a partial implementation of the comprehensive agreement signed between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on January 18, 2016, which includes a ceasefire, the integration of forces, and the handover of sovereign institutions.
The Syrian Future Movement affirms that this step strengthens mutual trust and eases security and ethnic tensions, supported by humanitarian reports highlighting the suffering of the victims. We call for the release of more detainees through joint committees comprising representatives of the government, the SDF, and civil society, with fair security vetting.
The Syrian Future Movement calls for the expedited implementation of the remaining provisions of the agreement, including withdrawals and resource management, under independent monitoring committees. The Syrian Future Movement reiterates its commitment to unity within the framework of UN Security Council Resolution 2254, while warning against any disruption to this positive trajectory.
