The Syrian Future Movement warmly welcomes and closely follows the official announcement issued by the Administrative Development Directorate of the Syrian Ministry of Energy, published on Monday, February 9, 2026. This announcement calls upon employees dismissed from the General Electricity Administration (formerly the Ministry of Electricity) – due to their participation in the Syrian revolution against the ousted regime – to report to the administrative offices specified next to their names to complete the next stage of the reinstatement process.
The reporting period begins on the same day, from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM, in accordance with the established procedures for restoring employment rights under applicable legal and administrative regulations.
The Syrian Future Movement considers this announcement an important and positive step towards rectifying the historical injustice suffered by thousands of employees and workers in the Syrian state, who were arbitrarily dismissed because of their patriotic and revolutionary stances. This measure comes within the context of broader efforts by state institutions to reintegrate national talent, as exemplified by the Ministry of Education, which has reinstated more than 20,000 teachers and employees who were arbitrarily dismissed (20,300 employees and teachers have completed the reinstatement process, with their situations being regularized in coordination with the provincial education directorates and the Ministry of Administrative Development).
We believe that these successful cases highlight the possibility of rapid and organized progress when the political will exists and the procedures are clear.
The Syrian Future Movement commends this step by the Ministry of Energy and affirms that the reinstatement of those who were dismissed is a fundamental right and a long-overdue act of justice that should encompass all ministries and public institutions without exception.
We believe that reinstating those arbitrarily dismissed will contribute to enhancing the efficiency of the public sector, rebuilding trust between citizens and the state, and supporting economic and social stability during the national recovery phase.
The Syrian Future Movement calls for the following:
- The swift and transparent completion of reinstatement procedures for all dismissed employees of the Ministry of Energy, ensuring no administrative or legal steps are delayed, and providing all necessary facilities for applicants (including publishing additional lists immediately upon completion of the audit, as the Ministry has previously indicated in other cases).
- The extension of this approach to all other ministries and public institutions (such as the Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources, the General Directorate of Geology, public companies in the electricity and energy sector, and educational, health, and administrative institutions), by publishing periodic lists and setting clear review dates for each batch, along with the establishment of joint committees comprising representatives from relevant authorities and civil society organizations to monitor transparency and fairness in the process.
- The acceleration of the process of restoring lost financial, pension, and promotion rights to dismissed employees who have returned or will return, taking into account the difficult economic circumstances they endured during their years of dismissal.
- The establishment of a unified electronic platform at the Syrian government level for submitting reinstatement applications, tracking procedures, and publishing updates, to facilitate access, especially for employees in remote areas or those displaced.
The Syrian Future Movement calls on international organizations and Syrian civil society to monitor this process and ensure that no group is discriminated against or excluded, with a focus on reintegrating women and young people who were dismissed, who constitute a large percentage of those affected.
The Syrian Future Movement sees these steps as a genuine opportunity to build a just state with strong institutions, where the dignity of all those who paid the price for their patriotic stances is restored, and trust between citizens and the state is rebuilt by rectifying historical injustices.
We consider the full reinstatement of all those arbitrarily dismissed from all departments and institutions a national imperative to strengthen stability and rehabilitate the human resources that Syria needs in the reconstruction phase.
